People from all walks of life get in trouble with the law every day.
The seriousness can vary from relatively minor road traffic and public order matters to cases affecting a person’s liberty and freedom.
We recognise the vital importance of prompt and clear advice for any person that finds himself or herself detained as part of an investigation or who has been requested by the Gardai to assist with their enquiries.
In that regard we at McInerney solicitors are in a position to attend a Garda station in Galway city or county in order to assist you. In emergencies we are available out of hours and on weekends. In that regard you can contact Colin Lynch, Partner at McInerney Solicitors on the following mobile telephone number - 085 1 73 73 97.
It is important to note that you should consult with a solicitor at the earliest opportunity as the events that occur at this stage of an investigation can greatly affect matters down the line and in particular at any subsequent trial. REMEMBER, you have a right to consult with a solicitor before questioning. We strongly recommend you avail of this right.
What to do if you are charged with an offence?
You should keep safe all paperwork given to you by the Gardai. You should immediately bring any Charge Sheets or summonses to our office. You should keep a record of what has happened being careful to record times and dates.
We will arrange for a consultation to plan the best strategy for your defence. We will arrange for a solicitor to attend court and speak on your behalf and arrange for bail etc. In that regard all of our solicitors have considerable advocacy experience and indeed Colin Lynch, Partner at McInerney Solicitors qualified and worked as a Barrister for a number of years.
Where appropriate we will endeavour to obtain legal aid in order to fund your defence. Please see the Tab marked Legal Aid.
